Wool and silk Ariane greets Melinte at Syracuse. This is an important tapestry part of the serie of the Story of Ariadne, depicted by Claude Vignon (painter and illustrator 1593-1670). The original book Ariane was written by Jean Desmaret de Saint-Sorlin (1595-1676).
