"A cross between a reading, writing and sitting room, the aim of this space will be to show the timeless nature of Watts 1874 fabrics. 'As a designer, I'm not interested in what's here today and gone tomorrow, says Alidad. 'Look at the longevity of Watts. Having gone through the beige and cornice-free white cube phase, these fabrics have survived and are as relevant today as they were 150 years ago.
Expect a combination of old and new fabrics on upholstery and as window treatments and a similar approach to the furniture. It's what I do, the inherited evolved look. The room will look like something the great-grandparents started but which has been tweaked and updated along the way."

A MASTER CRAFTSMAN TALK AT THE LEGEND ROOM
Wednesday 12th June 2024 - 8:30am start
Meet Croxford and Saunders and Thed Konings from Phelippeau Tapissier, Masters of their craft who have generously and painstakingly worked with Watts and Alidad to create the Legend Room.
Discover sixth-generation artisan tapissier Alexandre Phelippeau’s passion for upholstery, combining Middle Age techniques with innovative carbon-neutral technologies. Artists Matt and Tom will discuss their work from pencil studies to paint and glaze.
After the talk you are welcomed to the WATTS showroom for continued conversation and coffee with our three masters.

BRINGING THE PAST TO LIFE

Alidad will be in discussion with Giles Kime, Country Life's executive editor, and will explain how he takes inspiration from a wide range of historical influences to create distinctive interiors.

Focus/24 is the ultimate international design and decoration show, brimming with creative ideas, inspiration and insights. It is the place to be for all those passionate about design to discover the latest autumn/winter launches and hear from the best in the business as part of an unrivalled programme of events. Focus/24 will be a hub of innovation and creativity as new showrooms open, alongside 30 pop-up House Guests – an unmissable show where connections are made and ideas shared.
Focus/24 will be open Monday 16 to Friday 20 September, 10am – 6pm.
The Longer View will be open Monday 23rd September – Friday 11th October 2024.
