Bird (Bodley Collection)

c. 1871 Fabulous Bird, one of four original wallpapers designed by Watts Founder G.G. Scott and an enduring Watts favourite. c.1871 this print is derived from the bird and flower type of eighteenth century Chinese wallpaper, which was intended for rooms of small proportions. The design is strengthened by a closely observed naturalism, as every petal and feather are captured in exquisite minute detail. Beautiful!
