Fabulous Bird, one of four original wallpapers designed by Watts Founder G.F Bodley and an enduring Watts favourite. c.1871 this print is derived from the bird and flower type of eighteenth century Chinese wallpaper, which was intended for rooms of small proportions. The design is strengthened by a closely observed naturalism, as every petal and feather are captured in exquisite minute detail. Beautiful!

Now recreated as part of our 2022 collection 'The Bodley Papers,' which marries history with modernity through confident fresh colour ways and pattern rich styling. Digital and hand block production options and flick to Bird Burrows, Bird with even more glorious layers of colour. 

Hand blocked wallpapers with metallic gold are currently not available as digitals.
