Provenance: Late-18th Century, hand painted Chinoiserie paper. Private Collection.
In the 18th century hand painted Chinoiserie was the most coveted fashion of aristocratic interiors, with luscious colours such as malachite, azurite and carmine depicting oriental scenes of delicate flowers, foliage, birds and figures.
