c.1790. Originally a seventeenth century silk tapestry which would have been used as a bed hanging, wild birds perch on vines blooming with flowers to gaze at sun-ripened bunches of gorgeous grapes. Woven beautifully in wool silk in a golden palette enriched with zinc, bronze and silver on an ivory ground , this tapestry delights the senses.
