Isla
Printed in England
This late sixteenth century design was taken from Elizabethan crewel work, which Watts redrew and wove as a cut velvet in 2007. Plum roses bloom on an iridescent vine, mimicking the dazzling effect of a peacock’s display of tail feathers. The burst of colours and textures on the cotton ground make it an exceptional fabric for upholstery.
