Bellini Classic
The origin of this stylised geometric floral has been traced to a hanging depicted in Early Flemish painter Roger van der Weyden’s "Madonna And Saints" (c.1450). It was adapted by Augustus Pugin as a wallpaper during his collaboration with John Gregory Crace on the decoration of the great Abney Hall in Cheshire in the 1850s. Shocking blossoms shimmer over the rich ground of this silk damask.
