c.1550. Originally a sixteenth century jacquard tapestry, this was adapted as a printed cloth by Watts in the 1970s for ecclesiastical use in every season on the altar. Now in jewel-like colours on a thickly woven natural linen ground, the beautifully painted birds perch among the unfurling foliage. This fabric is also available in a luxurious weave as the Tisserin.
