c.1830 A grand Italianate cut velvet with a stylised foliage design, this is Watt?s best selling fabric. Striae cut silk velvet on textured golden woven silk gives an astounding effect to the bursting flowers. With the changing surface cut rubies, this sumptuous velvet shines crimson in the light, above a bed of rippling gold, and could be straight out of a painting by Bellini. The Perpignon, woven in the same velvet, makes a worthy companion.
1) As this is a cut pile velvet with a natural linen ground and due to the weaving process there may be occasional variations of the depth of the pile of the velvet.
2) The linen may contain natural slubs and irregularities which are a normal part of the characteristics of this fibre. This is not a defect.
