A striae Bemburg cut velvet, this sumptuous fabric was designed to compliment the Fontainbleau and the Versailles. The Perpignon?s striated green surface echoes the patination of the demantoid garnet, the favourite gemstone of the Russian Tsars. It looks fantastic on antique furniture in luscious green. 1) As this is a cut pile velvet with a natural linen ground and due to the weaving process there may be a in the depth of the pile of the velvet. 2) The linen ground may contain natural slubs and irregularities which are a normal part of the characteristics of the fibre. This is not a defect.
