Marmaduke Paisley

c.1880 The original of this elegant design was discovered at Stokesay Court, the magnificent late-Victorian mansion in which Atonement was filmed, as a woolen drapery. A large-scale paisley it has a complex design that cascades over the fabric like lace fountains. The design flourishes woven in wool and silk in gold, nutmeg brown and burnt umber.
