Malvern Mayfair

Malvern Mayfair

Malvern Mayfair

c.1889 Originally a 15th century Flemish textile pattern, this dramatic design was redrawn by G. F. Bodley, a founder of Watts and a pioneering architect of the Queen Anne revival, in 1889. A very large floral with stark contrast, the Malvern is woven in lots of colours and different qualities. The stylized thistle flowers are magnificent lacing upwards in azure and cobalt blue silk in a burst of elaborate foliage. The head of the thistle is woven in particularly wonderful detail in tiny acorn shaped stitches. Woven to order. 1) Minimum order of 10 metres.
