c.1878 This rich silk damask, designed by architect and Watts founder, Thomas Garner, was used extensively by the founders in their ecclesiastical commissions. Since then, Gothic has become a famed Watts hallmark, with the fabric being chosen as the altar frontal at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. This regal design has a real strength of character that is uninhibited in pure silk of magnificent vivid purples.
