Crevelli

c.1874 Drawn by Thomas Garner, a leading British architect and founder of Watts, this was originally a silk and gold thread brocatelle, the origins of which are to be found in an early 15th century painting by the Master of St Barthlomew. Originally in a cloth of gold for ecclesiastical vestments, this small-scale design is incredibly ornate, with gold flowers dancing across the black silk with shimmering undertones. It was used to magnificent effect as upholstery in the Burj El Arab, the only seven star hotel in the world. Woven to order. Minimum order ? 10 metres
