c.1790 Taken from an altar frontal from Castle Howard (where Brideshead Revisited was filmed), this was a pearl pink damask with contrasting embroidered decorative leaf detail and has been transormed into a starkly defined woven silk chenille that is perfect for upholstery. In the Bruges Chimay the design is inverted so that diagonally woven pale gold and blue-grey leaves curl like rolling waves between budding flowers on a silken pink-red ground, in which delicate fern leaves are just visible.
Woven to order.
