Chabannes Mille Fleurs
Printed in England
An Aubusson tapestry, c.1480-1510
‘Chabannes Millefleurs’ is drawn from the oldest known tapestry of the Aubusson region. The original is a heraldic tapestry depicting the Chabannes family coat of arms upon a geometric arrangement of delicate flowers and foliage, a unique take on the typical 15th Century ‘Millefleur’ or ‘thousand flowers’ design.
Permanent collection in the museum of the Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie Aubusson, France.
